New year, new you? Let’s be honest, it’s the same us just a bit too groggy and stodgy from the holidays. So, when trying to reset in the new year it’s important to remember it still needs to work alongside your lifestyle, time and capacity. I recommend focusing on smaller stepping stones, and achievable approach goals to help you get back on track in January.

1: Do reduce or remove alcohol from your daily routine. We also love a festive tipple or 2, but too much booze isn't great for your liver, skin or waistline. So one of the easy changes to make in January is to cut down on alcohol after the festive period.

2: Focus on sleep; sleep is key for so many functions that contribute to your overall wellbeing. So, making some little tweaks to promote better sleep will help you : 60 minutes of walking each day, turn off electronics an hour before bed, boost magnesium levels with a supplement or magnesium salts bath.

3: Dial into your diet: Be more mindful about what you're eating. Focus on fibrous foods [Vegetables] & Protein [Meat or vegan sources] but do not cut out whole foods groups or eliminate all your favourites. Making sure you have a range of healthy and nutritious foods by eating well 80% of the time is a good approach.

4. Get Active: Ok maybe we won’t all be doing bootcamp at 5am everyday, but anything from walking to a spin class a few times a week can help your body to feel better and revitalised [after you’ve recovered of course!]

5.Digital Detox: Try to reduce the amount of time spent with your head in the latest app. Go for a walk without your phone, sit down with a book for the evening, turn email notifications OFF after 6pm, and never feel guilty about taking more than 2 minutes to reply to a message!

6. Declutter the mind. There are many different practices that can help to clear the mind, increase focus and even reduce anxiety. Starting with a simple guided relaxation app [I know I just told you to digitally detox but we can’t win everything] takes the pressure and supports you whilst you’re learning the practices.
