- This year, Diptyque transports us to an enchanting story full of wonder and imagination—in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where the magic of the festive season comes to life.
- The trio of artists behind this creation reflects the three founders of Diptyque: contemporary poet Victor Pouchet created the winter story, which was illustrated with surrealism and humor by Parisian illustrator and bookseller Vincent Puente. Inès Mélia, a boldly imaginative artist, works with shapes and materials to bring a narrative dimension to poetic art objects that transform the story into a tangible form.
- Set in a bookshop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés a few days before Christmas, the story follows the bookseller and his mischievous, highly educated cat Archibald. The pair discover a strange attraction in a small pine cone dipped in the shimmering wax of a scented candle. With each turn of the page, the alchemy of the holidays unfolds...
- This year, Diptyque's winter icons find themselves in a fairy tale, adorned with surreal designs and golden motifs. Their boxes and wrapping paper become the precious pages of the story, imbued with poetry and light. A fairy tale that celebrates the magic of the holidays – with many loving details that playfully capture the magic of the festive season.
The Sapin scented candle by Diptyque is a handcrafted composition of exceptional sophistication that deserves careful attention. With just a few simple steps, you can release its fragrance in all its intensity and extend its life.
- Prepare the space: To protect delicate surfaces such as wood or marble, we recommend using a candle holder.
- Lighting: The fragrance unfolds with the first light. We recommend using a match to light the candle to avoid the risk of burns.
- Burning time: The candle should burn under supervision until the entire wax layer has melted – usually about four hours.
- Extinguishing: A candle snuffer prevents wax splashes or stains. Then align the wick with a wick trimmer and shorten it to about 5 mm to ensure clean burning the next time you light it.
- Finishing: Once only about 5 mm of wax remains or the metal holder becomes visible, the candle should no longer be used.
- Room air: After extinguishing the candle, it is recommended to ventilate the room to renew the air and allow the fragrance experience to fade harmoniously.
