Trudon: Royal tradition and close to nature
The history of the House of Trudon began in 1643 in the Rue Saint Honoré in Paris. This is where Claude Trudon owned a spice and candle shop. In 1702, a candle workshop was opened south of Paris. This later became the only royal candle workshop. In 1737, Jérôme Trudon buys the workshop. He optimized the candle production process and started selling white beeswax candles. He is also responsible for the motto under which the House of Trudon still stands today: “Deo regique laborant” (“They [The bees] labor for God and the King“). To this day, the brand emblem shows a beehive to honor the part played by bees. Trudon later supplied the imperial court. At the 1889 Paris Exhibition, the company was awarded a gold medal for its unique candles.
The Trudon workshop is located in Normandy in the Perche Regional Natural Park. The park is committed to preserving biodiversity. In this way, Trudon supports the protection of the European dark bee.

The wax is also poured in by hand and the surface is smoothed again at the end.
