Peacock Throne
Created for the Mughal Emperors of India in the early 17th century, the Peacock Throne was one of the most opulent treasures in history. The scent opens with luminous Indian jasmine, Egyptian orris and pink pepper pearls. At its heart lies the rose of Taif, one of the oldest cities in Arabia, its ruby glow, full and extravagant. At the base, rich warmth comes through the princely patchouli, sparkling vetiver and burnished vanilla. Majestic.

The story: The platform of pure gold was encrusted with enamel, gems and a double peacock’s tail set with rubies, emeralds, pearls and diamonds. At its heart lay the Kohinoor diamond, the largest known diamond in the world.
