That’s exactly where Findation comes in: With our new online tool, you can easily find out which foundation shade suits you best—based on a foundation you’re already familiar with and that blends perfectly with your skin tone.
Here’s how Findation works:
Do you already have a foundation whose shade is a perfect match for you? Perfect! Findation uses this as a reference. Simply enter the brand, product, and shade of your current foundation. Findation then cross-references this information and recommends the matching shade of the foundation you’re currently interested in.
This way, you can discover new foundations and immediately select the shade that best matches your skin tone.
Step 1: Select “Find Your Shade”
Have you found a foundation in our online store but want to know which shade is right for you? Click “Find Your Shade” on the product page to open Findation.
Step 2: Select your current foundation
Now Findation needs a reference. To do this, choose a foundation you already use and whose shade matches your skin tone really well. First, enter the brand of your foundation and select it from the list.
Step 3: Specify the product
Next, select the exact foundation product you’re already using. Be sure to choose the correct product—even within the same brand, shades can vary across different foundation lines.
Step 4: Select your shade
Now all that’s left is your current shade. Select the exact shade you’re currently using and are happy with. It’s best to double-check the name or number on your foundation’s packaging so that Findation can use the correct reference.
Step 5: Match Even More Precisely
Do you know of another foundation that matches your skin tone perfectly? If so, you can add that one as well.
It’s worth it: The more well-matching reference shades you provide, the more accurately Findation can determine your match. It’s important to specify only foundations whose shade actually matches your skin well. For example, a foundation that’s slightly too light or too dark isn’t suitable as an optimal reference.
Step 6: Discover Your Foundation Match
Now Findation takes care of the rest. The tool compares your entries and uses them to determine the right shade for the foundation you’re currently viewing. Et voilà—your personal foundation match! You can then select the recommended shade right away and shop for your new foundation online.
Our tips for the most accurate results:
Only use foundations as a reference if their shade truly matches your skin tone. If you know of several suitable foundations, it’s best to list more than one—this can make the matching even more precise. If you wear different shades in summer and winter, choose the one that best matches your current skin tone or the tone you have most of the year. And most importantly: Don’t guess. If you’re unsure about the product name or shade, take another look at your foundation. The more accurate your information is, the more helpful the recommendation will be.
