Myoga is an edible flower bud or herb that you can only find in Japan. It is referred to as Japanese ginger. Long ago, it was said in Japan that if you ate this myoga, it made you forget and lose your memory. Forgetfulness was not considered unfortunate because there is deep sorrow in life. The process of forgetting and overcoming will lead you into a new stage. This fragrance, expressing such a philosophy of life, is dynamic and challenging, taking you beyond oblivion.
 
The green herbal top starts with the scent of myoga, which is refreshing but bitter at the same time. Then followed by the aromatic notes of green tea with the white floral of tuberose, jasmine, and gardenia, leaving the faint scent of hinoki cypress, vetiver, and dry woody expressing the beauty of nature.

- Long ago, important fragrances were kept in sacred, decorated wooden boxes. The Profound packaging incorporates elements inspired by these traditional “treasure boxes,” symbolizing that these scents are equally precious and revered. The package artwork is inspired by mitsuda-e, a renowned ancient oil painting technique. The outer overlapping box echoes the folds of a kimono and wraps like the paper scrolls used in earlier times. The paper material used for the box is called sato-gami, a delicate paper with a soft, warm texture. The colours used — indigo for “Sacred Animal,” vermilion for “Ume Amaretto Oath,” and light green for “Beyond Oblivion” — are traditional Japanese shades representing the character of each scent.
- The perfume bottle features the same artwork as the packaging, presented in a translucent style. To enhance the brilliance of the glass and allow the artwork to stand out, a special polishing technique is applied. The “Profound” lettering appears in calligraphy, reflecting traditional Japanese brush painting.
- The spray mechanism, identical to that of the J-Scent collection, is fitted with a high-quality spray pump. The cap, with its solid and luxurious feel, features a magnetic closure.
