Bioeffect x Patricia Wirschke

Patricia Wirschke not only inspires over 800k Instagram followers with her style - she also has plenty of beauty tips up her sleeve. For one of her favorite brands, she went to Iceland in August, where she was able to immerse herself in the products (and of course the impressive landscape). In an interview with us, the Sylt native shares her favorites, her beauty game changers and her personal view on skincare and skin aging.

 

Bioeffect recently invited you to Iceland. What experience impressed you the most there?

Patricia Wirschke: Iceland had been on my bucket list for a long time, so I was incredibly grateful to be able to make this trip together with Bioeffect. I was deeply impressed by the majestic nature, especially the Gljúfrabúi waterfall. It was a unique experience to stand behind the waterfall and experience it from all perspectives. I also found the fact that it was still daylight at midnight fascinating. It was also particularly exciting to experience Bioeffect's connection to Icelandic nature on site: The brand uses geothermal energy and pure Icelandic water in its production, which makes its origins even more tangible.

If you could only pack three products in your hand luggage, what would they be?

Definitely the EGF Power Serum, because for me it forms the basis of good skincare - it supports regeneration, plumps up the skin and provides intensive moisture. Retinol also belongs in my luggage as it refines the skin structure and is a real classic in the anti-ageing sector. And last but not least: a good broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Which destination is at the top of your list?

A round trip through Italy is planned for 2025 - ideally before our son starts school.

Do you have a skincare routine that you also follow when traveling?

Yes, I'm very strict and consistent with my skincare routine, even when I'm traveling. For me, consistency is the key to healthy and well-groomed skin.

Can you tell us about your game-changing product?

Definitely the EGF Power Serum. It really surprised me how visibly my skin changed after a few weeks - it looks plumper, smoother and simply healthier. The plant-derived growth factor EGF from Icelandic barley supports skin regeneration and stimulates collagen production. I find it particularly impressive that the formulation is so pure - only a few ingredients, but still highly effective. A real must-have for me!

What's the craziest place you've ever done your skincare routine?

Probably on an airplane, in the middle of a long-haul flight - but is that still considered a "crazy" place these days? (laughs) The skin is so stressed by the dry cabin air - that's why I've done my entire routine there. But I also see many other women who unpack their beauty bag on the plane as a matter of course, use eye patches or something similar. Incidentally, the Eye Mask from Bioeffect is also ideal for hand luggage: it revitalizes the eye area, provides intensive moisture and reduces puffiness and signs of tiredness in just 15 minutes.

How do you personally feel about skin ageing? And: What is your opinion on procedures, skincare and the sun?

I think it's important to age gracefully and to support the skin in the best possible way. You can achieve an incredible amount with consistent skincare - products like those from Bioeffect show how effectively science and minimalist formulations can work together to promote skin regeneration and reduce visible signs of ageing. When skincare reaches its limits, I honestly have nothing against interventions. As long as they remain discreet and suit your skin type.
Sun is great, who doesn't love it? It's a real mood booster - but unfortunately we all know that UV radiation is the biggest skin ageing factor. That's why I rely on consistent sun protection and prefer to use a good self-tanner (oh yes, there are fabulous formulas!) to get a glowing, tanned complexion without damaging the skin.
