- Louis Barthélemy is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based between Marrakech, Cairo and Paris. At the core of his practice is a deep commitment to the preservation and revival of traditional crafts. Drawing on the many relationships he has developed with artisans and craftspeople from his home in Marrakesh to his years in Cairo, Louis continuously seeks to celebrate, share and find common humanity by working with local artisans across a variety of mediums.
- In Eternal Rituals, via a sprawling three-part tapestry, Louis showcases the central role that haircare has played in our daily life since antiquity. The whimsical narrative visualizes thousands of years of haircare ritual, starting with a sublime deity, whose hair flows upwards like the life-giving Nile river. Under the watchful eye of the god Horus, the flowing locks are tended to and braided by mythical Egyptian gods and goddesses, surrounded by lush flora and fauna, all with playful nods to Oribe throughout.
- Designed for gifting (and collecting) in limited-edition boxes featuring original artwork by Louis Barthélemy.
- The boxes are made using FSC Certified, Green Seal Certified, minimum 30% post-consumer fiber papers using a chlorine free process, soy inks and renewable electricity. Internal trays are made from 100% biodegradable and renewable plant fiber. Recyclable.
